Russia Offers Elon Musk Political Asylum as U.S. Deportation Talk Intensifies.

In an extraordinary twist to Elon Musk’s escalating political crisis, Russian officials have publicly offered the billionaire tech mogul political asylum. This comes amid increasing calls from U.S. political figures for Musk’s deportation, transforming the tech tycoon’s status from controversial entrepreneur to potential international dissident.

The controversy intensified after former Trump adviser Steve Bannon accused Musk of being an “illegal alien” and called for his deportation during a recent broadcast. Bannon also urged Trump to seize control of SpaceX under national security grounds. Musk, a naturalized U.S. citizen, dismissed the threats, but the rhetoric has sparked serious political and public debate.

Russia swiftly entered the fray. Dmitry Novikov, a senior member of Russia’s parliament, said that Moscow could offer asylum to Musk “if needed,” drawing comparisons to Edward Snowden, who was granted asylum in 2013. Dmitry Rogozin, former head of Roscosmos, went further, urging Musk to come to Russia and contribute his talents to their space and defense sectors.

Even former President Dmitry Medvedev chimed in, jokingly offering to mediate between Trump and Musk in exchange for Starlink shares. While the Kremlin officially stated it had no plans to intervene, the high-profile invitations have already sent shockwaves through political and tech communities.

Musk has responded with bemused emojis on social media, but the situation remains volatile. With tensions mounting between Musk and elements of the Trump-aligned right, and Russia positioning itself as a safe haven, the billionaire may soon face a stark decision: stand firm in the U.S. or explore exile in Moscow.

This unexpected geopolitical twist could redefine not only Musk’s career but the global perception of the U.S. tech industry in an increasingly fractured world.
